Mary Swain Watson

Staff report

Mary Swain Watson, 91, of Paducah, formerly of Morganfield, Kentucky, passed away at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Superior Care Home.

She was retired from Paducah Power and was a member of St. Thomas More.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Thompson and husband David of Paducah; stepson, Jim Watson and wife Jeanie of Paducah; daughter-in-law, Jean Swain of Paducah; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Watson; her first husband, Cecil Swain; her parents, James Robert Girten and Agnes Livers Girten; her son, Jim Swain; stepdaughter, Barbara Ann Buntley; and her brother, Robert Girten.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Brandon Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation for Mary will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August, 29, 2014, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Contributions of sympathy may go to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 5645 Blandville Road, Paducah, KY 42001; or the American Cancer Society, 3140 Parisa Drive, Paducah KY, 42003.
