Randall Lampley

Staff report

METROPOLIS - Mr. Randall Lampley, age 59, of Metropolis, Ill., went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, August 4, 2014, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014, at the Metropolis First Baptist Church with Rev. Louis W. Brinker and Dr. Joe Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Lampley was a U.S. Air Force Veteran stationed in Omaha, Neb., and served overseas in Okinawa, Japan. Randall was retired from EEI and former Treasurer of the Massac County Gun Club. He was a member of Metropolis First Baptist Church and loved his family dearly. Randall also enjoyed shooting trap, fishing and reading.

Randall is survived by his wife of 32 years, Paula; son, Jacob Lampley of Metropolis; mother, June Lampley of Metropolis; sister, Paula Peck and husband Dean of Shelbyville, Ky.; and niece Sarah Blair and husband Klinton of Lexington, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jewell Lampley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.

Expressions of Sympathy may be given to: the Metropolis First Baptist Church Playground Fund, 306 Massac Creek Road, Metropolis, IL 62960; or to Lourdes Hospice, P.O. Box 226, Metropolis, IL 62960.
