Betty Sumner

Staff Report

MAYFIELD - Betty L. Joiner Sumner, 84, of Mayfield died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Mills Health and Rehabilitation.

She was a homemaker and member of Northside Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Roger K. Creason of Lone Oak, Charles Sumner Jr. of Paducah, and Kenneth Boyd Sumner of New Orleans, Louisiana; one daughter, Teresa Creason Allen of Mayfield; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Ann Lee of Mayfield and Norma Sue Stimson of Baltimore, Maryland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Sumner Sr.; two sisters; and four brothers. Her parents were Ransey and Pauline Bradley Joiner. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield with Rev. Monte Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
