Ruth Purcell

BOAZ - Ruth Purcell, 85, of Boaz passed away at 10:38 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at her home.

Ruth was born in Symsonia on September 4, 1928. She was retired from Eli Lilly Drug Company and the International Shoe Company. Ruth was also of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Terry Allen Purcell and wife Marilyn of St. Charles, Mo.; one sister, Betty Miller and husband Bill of McHenry, Ill.; one brother, David Waldrop and wife Kay of Boaz; three grandchildren, Lori Phan and husband Thao, Danielle Ottinger and husband Matthew, and Gavin Purcell and his wife Elizabeth; seven great-grandchildren, Chandler, Kailee, Tyler, Gabrielle, Mitchell, Lorissa, and Ellyana; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Allan Purcell; parents, Theron Waldrop and Bessie Phillips Waldrop; one brother, Vernon Waldrop; and two sisters, Audra Harrington and Emma Lou Waldrop.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Bolton Cemetery in Symsonia.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
