BARDWELL - Rozella Flournoy Young, 81, of Bardwell died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Heritage Manor in Mayfield.
She was a safety director, director of risk management, and a purchasing agent at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah. She was a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church in Mayfield. She was a 58 year honorary leader of 4-H and a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years. Since 1946, she was the high school basketball scorekeeper at Ballard County and Carlisle County and was inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame in 2008.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Black and Melody Burgess, both of Mayfield; two sons, David Smith of Paducah and Jeffrey M. Smith of Arlington; one brother, William Flournoy of Paducah; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin E. Smith; second husband, George "Wilson" Young; and one grandson. Her parents were Garton and Ora Atherton Flournoy.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Rev. Ronnie Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at the funeral home.
