Charles 'Ted' Thompson III

BARDWELL - Graveside services for Charles Edward "Ted" Thompson III, 85, of Bardwell will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Gaylon Bruer officiating.

Mr. Thompson died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Countryside Center.

Mr. Thompson worked as a mason and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the World War II and Korean War eras. He was a member of American Legion Post 0200.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Lee Davenport of Arlington and Lori Ann Collins of Venice, Fla.; two sons, Charles E. Thompson IV of Paducah and Scott David Thompson of Bardwell; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Leona Dushane Thompson; one son Brian Todd Thompson; two sisters; and one brother. His parents were Charles E. Thompson II and Hazel Lenore Johnston Thompson.

Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell is in charge of arrangements.
