Larry Mathis

Staff report

Larry Mathis, 80, of Paducah passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mr. Mathis was a Korean War Air Force veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, past president of the Association of General Contractors, and a member of Father's House of Paducah.

He is survived by his wife, Dessie Lynn Mathis of Paducah; two daughters, Dana and Diane; Dana's family - son-in-law, Robert Gardner; granddaughter, Stephanie Gardner; grandson, Larry Gardner; and great-grandson, Avery, all of North Carolina; Diane's family - grandson, Tyler Webb and wife Lindsey; and great-grandchildren Keaton, Beau, and Addyson of Kevil; granddaughter, McCall and husband Ryan Wagner; and great-granddaughter, McNally, of Paducah; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L.L. Mathis, Eula Wells, and Elmer "Cotton" Miller; and his beloved puppies.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Lindsey Funeral Home from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. with Alvin Moore officiating. A private family entombment will follow.
