Mary Catherine Wurth

Mary Catherine Wurth, 87, of Paducah, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.

She was a Reidland High School graduate, and retired from Lourdes Hospital Housekeeping Department after more than 20 years of service. After retirement, she was able to share her love of gardening while working at Wurth Farms where she was affectionately known as "Aunt Mary."

Ms. Wurth is survived by her son, Michael William Wurth and wife Regina of Paducah; two sisters, Dorris Scheer of Paducah and Ethel O'Neill and husband Walter of Milburn; four brothers, James Kortz of Paducah, Charles Kortz and wife Bonnie of Paducah, Earl Kortz of Paducah, and Richard Kortz and wife Florence of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Staci Baker and Kristi Wurth, both of Paducah; one great-grandchild, Austin Baker of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Andrew Joseph Wurth; her parents, Frank William Kortz and Mary Luvada (Wurth) Kortz; and one sister, Mildred Kortz.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Tom Buckman officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Visitation for Ms. Wurth will be Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with prayers beginning at 6 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
