Earnest Murphy

FANCY FARM - Thomas E. "Earnest" Murphy, 90, of Fancy Farm died at 2:54 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Mills Health & Rehabilitation Facility.

He was retired from Lourdes Hospital, a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus No. 1418 and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Harms of Hickory; one grandson, Jonathan Thomas Harms of Mayfield; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Hobbs of Fancy Farm and Mary Aline Hargrove of Sedalia.

He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. His parents were Thomas P. and Lillian Pollock Murphy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm with the Rev. Darrell Venters officiating. Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, with military rites conducted.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the church, where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m.

Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield is in charge of arrangements.
