Edward Stivers

Staff report

BENTON - Edward Stivers, 72, of Benton died at 9:24 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Lourdes hospital.

He worked for an auto repair shop in Sumner, Ill., and owned a business. He also worked for Wonder Bread Company.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Meeker Stivers; one son, Tom Stivers of Benton; two daughters, Barbara Stivers of Benton and Shelia Stivers; one stepson, Robert Richey of Benton; one stepdaughter, Deborah Richey Mills of Sumner, Ill.; three grandsons; three great-grandsons; seven stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Stivers and Sarah Stewart Stivers.

Services will be at noon Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home with Rev. Richie Clendenen officiating.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
