Charles Thomas

CADIZ - Charles Rexie "Snookie" Thomas, 88, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Cadiz, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at his home in Lakes Wales.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II. He retired in 1986 from Westinghouse in Beaver, Pa., as a machine repairman with 36 years' service.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Kim Eckstein of Beaver, Pa.; one stepson, Kenneth Wallace of Beaver Falls, Pa.; two stepbrothers, James Hendricks of Cadiz and Ernest Hendricks of Murray; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian May Thomas; five stepbrothers; and two sisters. His parents were Charles Rex Thomas and Nancy Wallace Thomas Hendricks.

Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Jones Cemetery in Trigg County with military rites conducted. The Rev. Russ Thomas will officiate.

There will be no visitation. King's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
