Omer Morris

VIENNA, Ill. - Omer C. Morris, 92, of rural Simpson, the Flatwoods community, died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired automotive mechanic and a member of County Line Baptist Church, where he had served as a trustee for over 50 years.

He is survived by three sons, Mike Morris of Hickory, Ky., Steve Morris and Phillip Morris, both of Simpson; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one brother, Donnie Morris of the Flatwoods community; and one sister, Faye Bowman of Dixon Springs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Blackard Morris; and one brother. His parents were Wayne and Wandie (Bass) Morris.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial with military honors will be in the Kerley Cemetery in the Flatwoods community.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
