Gerald T. Parker

CALVERT CITY - Gerald T. Parker, 69, of Calvert City, Kentucky went to be with his Lord at 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

Gerald retired from B.F. Goodrich where he worked as both a mechanic and a millwright. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Calvert City Masonic Lodge #543, the Millwrights Local #1080 and a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glynda Barrett Parker of Calvert City; his sons, Jeff Parker and his wife Lisa of Benton and Brad Parker and his wife Kathy of Calvert City; five grandchildren, Logan Parker, Garrett Parker, Dax Parker, Taylor Parker and Peyton Parker; two brothers, Charles Parker of Camden, Tenn., and Johnny Parker of Murray; and a sister, Rheanetta Coleman of Murray.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Parker and Bessie Marie Thurmond Parker.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Pastor Dale Greenwell and the Rev. Charles Parker will officiate and burial will follow in Marshall County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.

Gerald loved his church and in lieu of flowers his request was to make contributions to: the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 6026 US Hwy 641 N, Gilbertsville, KY 42044 to be used for paving their parking lot.
