Herby Gene Vance

WICKLIFFE -- Herby Gene Vance, 78, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Life Care Center in La Center.

Herby was the Ballard County Sheriff for eight years and the Deputy Sheriff for 20 years. He was a member of Wickliffe Baptist Church.

Mr. Vance is survived by one daughter, Jill Moore of Austin, Texas; three sons, Darrell Vance of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Tod Vance of Barlow, Kentucky, and David Vance of Bastrop, Texas; three brothers, Chad Vance of Wickliffe, Kentucky, Mike Vance of Wickliffe, Kentucky, and Tim Vance of Wickliffe, Kentucky; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert H. and Alma Curtis Vance; and one brother, Dickie Vance.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Wickliffe with the Rev. Larry Fraser officiating. Burial will follow in Wickliffe City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the service time of 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Wickliffe.
