Janice Grimes

SYMSONIA - Janice Grimes, age 54, of Symsonia, Ky., passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 19, 2014.

She was born November 11, 1959, the daughter of Hubert and Jeanette Green. She graduated from Bremen High School in 1977 and was a proud Hilltopper, graduating from WKU in 1982 with degrees in interior design and business. She also had her teaching degree.

Surviving are two sons, Ragon and Reed, both of Symsonia, Ky. Also surviving are her parents, Hubert and Jeanette Green of Bremen, Ky.; two sisters, Ann Green of Bremen, Ky., and Nancy Smith of Smithland, Ky. She also leaves behind her niece, Lauren Smith, and nephews, Logan Smith of Stanton, Ky., and Lane Smith of Winter Park, Colo.

Her husband, Brent Grimes, also passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.

Janice was co-owner of Grimes and Associates in Reidland, Ky. She had a passion for her family, she loved UK basketball and was a proud lifetime member of the NRA.

There will be a memorial visitation from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Reidland Methodist Church, followed by memorial services at 3:30 p.m.

There will also be another memorial visitation on Sunday, March 2, 2014, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bremen, Ky., followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m.

Donations can be made to the Brent and Janice Grimes Memorial Fund for her two sons at Paducah Bank, P.O. Box 2600, Paducah, KY 42002.

Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah, KY is in charge of arrangements.
