James Williamson

GOLCONDA, Ill. - James Williamson, 88, of Golconda died Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in Moline for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Bonetia Williamson; two daughters, Nancy Whittington of Nashville, Tenn., and Jo Ellen Williamson of Atlanta; one grandson; one sister, Faye Pettie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Tillet Henry and Amanda Louise (Cash) Williamson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Mount Olivet Church in Golconda with Virgil Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Aly Funeral Home in Golconda with Masonic services  at 8 p.m.
