Adele Wilkerson Richerson

MAYFIELD - Adele (Wilkerson) Richerson, 97, of Mayfield, Kentucky, died on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Green Acres Health Care in Mayfield, Kentucky.

She was a homemaker and member of First Missionary Baptist Church.

Born Friday, February 25, 1916, in Graves County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Frances Asbury Wilkerson and the late Lovie (Price) Wilkerson. She was the wife of the late John Cletus Richerson.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Ruth Richerson of Paducah, Ky.; grandchildren, Laura Richerson Durbin of Paducah, Ky., and Julia Richerson, husband Erik Siegel of Louisville, Ky.; and great-grandchildren, Kevin Coughlin, Landon Durbin and Nora Siegel; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Joe Price Richerson; one infant son; brother, Frances Wilkerson; and sister, Lee Lassiter.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014. at Collier Funeral Chapel, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025, with the Rev. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Sinking Springs Cemetery, Calloway County, Ky.

Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Collier Funeral Home.

The family asks that memorial contributions be given to the charity of your choice.
