Lillian Allcock Kaler

SYMSONIA - Lillian Allcock Kaler, 97, of Symsonia died on February 5, 2014, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation in Metropolis, IL.

She was a graduate of Murray State University and a retired Symsonia Elementary School teacher, with 50 years service to the Graves County School. She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and the Symsonia Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 66 years, Harlan T. Kaler; son, Terry Harlan Kaler; mother, Elsie (Kinney) Allcock; father, Hiram T. Allcock; sister, Lela (Allcock) Wood, all of Symsonia.

Mrs. Kaler is survived by her daughter, Karon Kaler Banister; sister, Kathleen Stegmann; three brothers, J.T. Allcock, wife Eva; Roger Allcock, wife Jeweldean, all of Symsonia, and Kinnie Allison, wife Louise of Paducah. Also surviving are Lillian's two grandsons, Gregory Harlan Kaler and his children, Dessiea and Harlyn of Ormond Beach, Florida and Drs. Jason David Banister, wife Karen and their children Sarah, David and Samuel of Lone Oak, KY.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Bro. Joel Frizzell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Clarks River Cemetery, Symsonia, KY.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at the Collier Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Symsonia Alumni Association, Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 52, Symsonia, KY 42082 or Clarks River Cemetery Trust Fund, 12457 State Route 131, Symsonia, KY 42082.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
