Celia Hopson

Staff report

CADIZ - Celia Moore Hopson, 87, of Cadiz died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz.

She was a retired educator who taught in Trigg County schools and aided in forming the former Cadiz United Methodist Church kindergarten program. She was a member of Cadiz Christian Church.

She is survived by one son, W. Howell Hopson III  of Cadiz; one brother, Dr. Bacon Moore of Harrodsburg; one sister, Nan Oldham of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winthrop H. Hopson II. Her parents were Bacon Rochester Moore II and Eula Conley Moore.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Cadiz Christian Church in Cadiz with the Rev. Dr. Tom Martin officiating. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Goodwin Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour Sunday at the church.
