BENTON - Dr. Wendell E. Gordon, 80, of Benton died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Benton.

He is survived by his wife, Joann (Holmes) Gordon; two sons, Pat Gordon of Benton and Kenneth Gordon of Paducah; one daughter, Karen Berg of Albany, Ga.; brother, Glendell Gordon of Smithland; one sister, Frances Howard-Derr of Mayfield; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, David Gordon; and two sisters. His parents were Elwood Charles Gordon and Bertha Frances (Knight) Gordon.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton with the Rev. David Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Benton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the funeral home.
