There are two separate traffic advisories to be aware of today, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Eastbound traffic will be restricted to one lane on U.S. 60, Milepointer 14.87, at the Beltline Overpass in Paducah to allow for repairs to a bridge railing. Eastbound traffic will move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone, which is expected to go up at 8 a.m. and be completed by 3 p.m.
A contractor also plans two brief traffic interruptions within the Interstate 24/Purchase Parkway Exit 25 Interchange.
First, traffic from U.S. 62 at Calvert City seeking to travel southbound on the Purchase Parkway will be stopped for 10-15 minutes to allow placement of an overhead sign truss. This will take place between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Second, a brief traffic interruption will be for eastbound traffic on I-24 within the Exit 25 work zone. Police will assist with a rolling road block to slow eastbound traffic starting near Exit 16. This will allow a contractor to place an overhead sign truss for the eastbound lanes near the 24 mile marker. This sign truss placement is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
This work zone includes a 55 mph speed limit with an enhanced enforcement presence and double fines for citations.
