An article in Sunday's Sun reported that there are seven uncontested political races in McCracken County, which is a key reason turnout is expected to be low in the May 22 primary. The reference was to candidates with no opposition in either the primary or general election. There also are three candidates with no opposition in the primary but who will face opponents in November. Those candidates are Bill Bartleman (R), county commissioner, 1st District; Martha Emmons (D), state representative, 3rd District; and Ryan Johnston (D), county commissioner, 3rd District.
