Air Force Airman Dakota S. Johnson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Johnson is the son of Mike S. Johnson of Key Largo, Florida, and Sandy P. Johnson of Hickman, and the stepson of Denise W. Johnson of Naples, Florida. He earned a diploma in 2011 from Naples High School.
Brigadier General Johnny R. Miller of Tamms, Illinois, assistant adjutant general-Army, Illinois National Guard, will be promoted to the rank of major general in a ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at John. A. Logan Museum, 1613 Edith St., Murphysboro, Illinois.
As a civilian, Miller is the business excellence site facilitator for Dyno-Nobel Incorporated's Wolf Lake, Illinois, facility.
