Authorities search for theft suspects

Staff report

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department is searching for suspects in a theft alleged to have happened late Friday.

The victim claimed that the theft happened between 8 p.m. and midnight around Saint Andrews Drive. The suspects broke into a vehicle and took bank cards, credit cards, currency and other items, according to a news release from detective Matt Carter.

Carter said a black male is believed to have used the victim's credit card at the Hinkleville Road Walmart to make two purchases around 1:43 a.m. and 1:51 a.m. He's also believed to have used the card again around 10:08 a.m. to purchase items at Foot Locker and Lids, both of which are located inside Kentucky Oaks Mall.

A white male driving a red, two-door Honda Civic also used the credit card around 10:35 a.m. the same day at a Five Star on the corner of James-Sanders Boulevard and Hinkleville Road, Carter said.

Anyone with information leading to the identification of the suspects is asked to contact West Kentucky Crime Stoppers at 270-443-8355 or the McCracken County Sheriff's Department at 270-444-4719. Tipsters with information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
