At the Kentucky Occupational License Association (KOLA) conference this month in Lexington, Paducah Revenue Manager Angela Copeland was installed as president.
"Being on the KOLA board the last two years, first as president elect and now as president, I have had the opportunity to become more knowledgeable about occupational license and network with other tax administrators instrumental in standardizing the laws pertaining to the collection of occupational license. Being on the board has allowed me to be on the Kentucky Secretary of State's Task Force for developing a standardized form for the state of Kentucky," she said.
Copeland added, "I am excited about bringing the KOLA conference to Paducah in 2015."
Paducah Mayor Gayle Kaler said, "With leadership roles such as Angela's role as KOLA president, Fire Chief Steve Kyle's installation as president of the Kentucky Firefighter's Association, and Police Chief Brandon Barnhill's recent installation as third vice president of the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police, the rest of the state will look to Paducah as a knowledge-base. Plus, I am thrilled that annual conferences for these associations will be held in Paducah."
KOLA provides educational and networking resources for professionals pertaining to the occupational license tax in Kentucky. The association also works to promote cooperation and understanding among local tax administrators, the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet and the Internal Revenue Service.
