No-kill animal shelter hosts trivia night Friday

BY KATIE PAXTON kpaxton@paducahsun.com

The Project Hope No-Kill Animal Shelter invites animal and music lovers alike to All-Music Trivia Night on Friday at the Robert Cherry Civic Center.

Teams of six will compete for first, second, and third prizes with questions on all types of music, including different decades and genres, such as '60s, '70s, and '80s music, country, pop, and rock 'n' roll. Doors open at 6 p.m. and play begins at 7 p.m.

Outside food and drink, including alcoholic beverages, are permitted. A concession stand will offer drinks, baked goods, nachos, popcorn, and other snacks.

Registration costs $90 per team, or $15 per person. All the proceeds will go toward supporting the animals at Project Hope.

"There's about 75 cats and 60 dogs at the shelter, so over 130 animals," said Susan Howell, board member and assistant treasurer for Project Hope. "We're a no-kill animal shelter, so the animals will live there and we'll take care of them. We go the extra mile and pay for any vet bills, neutering, spaying and vaccinations."

The Metropolis, Ill., shelter is remodeling, increasing the need for funds.

To register a trivia team, email info@projecthopeanimalshelter.com for an entry form.
