The city of Paducah will host a LIVE on the RIVER concert Saturday featuring youth talent.
The theme for Saturday's event is Sounds of Paducah. Performers will include drummer Zaren Saddler, violinist Ian Bastida and guitarist Randy Roberston. Three Rivers Martial Arts Academy and the Rhythm Factory will also have performances.
"Paducah has several organizations that focus on nurturing the creativity of local youth," said Molly Tomasallo, special events coordinator. "This Saturday the community will have a chance to get a glimpse of the amazing young talent in this region."
The concert will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Paducah. Broadway will be closed inside of Third Street to the riverfront. All the entertainment is free and carriage rides are available for a small fee.
Other free events include animal shows, art demonstrations, magic shows, Adrenaline Mobile Laser Tag, face painting, decorating picture frames and a chance to participate in the WKMS youth radio project to inspire young reporters.
Tomasallo also encourages people to visit the downtown businesses and restaurants and enjoy what she calls "Paducah's backyard" - the riverfront.
The final LIVE on the RIVER concert for 2014 will be on Aug. 2. The Parks Department will partner with the Big Brown Truck Pull and Special Olympics for Sounds of the South, featuring country music, the truck pull and sporting demonstrations.
