Master Gardeners to hold luncheon

Staff report

The Purchase Area Master Gardeners Association will host a luncheon and lecture at noon Thursday at the McCracken County Cooperative Extension Service, 2705 Olivet Church Road, in Paducah.

Called Herb Appeal II, the event will focus on healthy living with a mix of food and information about the benefits of herbs in four areas: cooking, juicing, using essential oils and gardening.

The keynote speaker will be Marcy Snodgrass of Hearts Yoga Studio and Juice Bar, 707 S. 12th St., Murray. Chris Janne, an extension master gardener, will share tips on growing herbs.

For Herb Appeal II, Extension Master Gardeners have partnered with Laura Duff of A Pampered Palate Catering to develop the luncheon menu, for which Midtown Market will provide fresh ingredients.

The event will conclude with a sale of herbs featured in the meal. Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. and serving will begin promptly at noon. Tickets for the event are $20. Tickets are limited and can be purchased at the McCracken County Cooperative Extension Service. Call 270-554-9520 for more information.
