Massac County Youth Fair to begin this weekend

The 33rd annual Massac County Youth Fair begins this weekend with fun activities for the whole family.

Friday night's events take place from 6 to 9 p.m. with the farm toy show and the completion of diary cattle and goat show entries at 9 p.m.

Saturday has an early start with the completion of duck and rabbit show entries at 7:30 a.m., followed by the tractor and machinery show at 8 a.m. The duck and rabbit shows begin at 9 a.m.; the pedal tractor pull starts at 1 p.m.; and the horse show starts at 4 p.m. At 6 p.m., the tractor and machinery parade takes off through the streets of Metropolis, Ill.

On Sunday, there will be another tractor and machinery show at 8 a.m., as well as another Tractor and Machinery Parade at 1:30 p.m.

The fair will take place on the Youth Fairground at 4476 Korte Road in Metropolis, near Massac County High School. The events are free for spectators. For more information, call 618-524-7320.
