Video to promote convention center

By LAUREN P. DUNCAN lduncan@paducahsun.com

A Paducah marketing agency will put together a promotional video for the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center Corporation.

The corporation chose Innovations Branding House to produce a 4- to 5-minute video on the Convention Center complex.

Innovations Branding House CEO Todd Duff said the project is in its early stage, but the video is intended to be creative in showing the people who work at the center and its setting.

"It puts the people and the facility in a positive light," Duff said.

The target audience for the video will be regional and local visitors, Duff said. He said his company's goal is to market what makes the center different than its competition, including that it can service small and large activities.

Duff said his company plans to use a drone device to record video of the interior and exterior of the center from different angles.

The video is currently only set to include footage of the convention center, but that could change once plans are finalized with Senate Hospitality, which entered a franchise agreement with the Paducah Convention Hotel, LLC, to construct a Hilton Garden Inn south of the complex, adjacent to the Julian Carroll Convention Center.

The seven-story, 121-room hotel is estimated to cost $19.2 million and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2015.

"When the hotel comes on board, we'll be able to revise (the video)," board member Tom Padgett said.
