A Trigg County man died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning.
Matthew Lambruno, 26, of Cadiz, was driving his 2016 GMC truck east on Kings Chapel Road around 5:30 a.m. with passenger Trevor T. Saunders, 31, also of Cadiz. The truck left the road and struck an embankment, overturning multiple times. Lambruno was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected during the wreck, Kentucky State Police Trooper Jody Cash said in a news release. He died at the scene, Cash reported.
Police believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the wreck.
An ambulance took Saunders to Trigg County Hospital, and he was later flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Cash said.
An autopsy of Lambruno is scheduled at the Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville.
Trooper Aaron Acree is investigating the wreck. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555. Citizens may also report tips anonymously through the KSP app.
