'Servin' for St. Nick' benefit to feature attorneys

Staff report

This month's "Servin' for St. Nick" will feature local attorneys Judy Payne, Whitney Englert Riley and Ashley Wiggins as guest servers.

The event will be 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at The Bistro, the restaurant and bar inside the Paducah Courtyard by Marriott. This is the second monthly mixer, which is held every third Thursday of the month.

Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

Guests may order a variety of food and beverages from the Bistro menu, including appetizers, made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salads, pizza, soft drinks, Starbucks coffee, wine, beer and mixed drinks.

Attendees are invited to relax and mingle in the Bistro, the lounge area, or the garden Courtyard. The Courtyard is located just off Hinkleville Road near the mall, at 3835 Technology Drive.

Courtyard is donating 20 percent of all Bistro sales that evening to the St. Nicholas Family Clinic Foundation, which provides assistance for primary care and medicine for the working uninsured. Individual donations to St. Nicholas Foundation are also accepted during each event.

"Servin' for St. Nick" features a new team of guest servers from a variety of businesses every month, as well as food and beverage specials, door prize drawings and seasonal themes. Servers are also invited to compete for a "server of the year" award. The server who brings in the most guests at his or her event will win a prize package at the end of the year.

"It's such a great event," Payne said.  "Several of us attended the May event and had so much fun we offered to serve at the June event."

"Yes, and we hope many others will join us in June to have a great time while supporting such a great cause," Riley said.

"This event is a win-win for everyone involved," Wiggins said.
