Kindness Camp set for Saturday

Staff report

The Paducah Kindness Council sponsored by the Guess Anti-Bullying Foundation will hold a Kindness Camp from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Murray State University Crisp Center in Paducah.

The meeting with open with songs from actress, singer and Murray native Olivia Faye. She starred in the anti-bullying film "Hello Herman." In 2011, Faye performed on the No Bully Tour, featuring many young musicians hoping to send a strong anti-bullying message to teenagers. She will talk about the gift of kindness.

"Kindness is powerful," co-founder Morgan Guess said. "If we can make a difference in the life of one person, our work is worth it but I believe Paducah can become the example of how a community can change an entire culture when they work together."

Children of all ages, parents, teachers and community members are encouraged to participate.

"Attendees will participate in fun activities and will build a community plan with a focus of integrating kindness into social media, at our schools and throughout our community," said co-founder Susan Guess.

Lunch will be served. Send RSVP to susan@paducahbank.com.
