The deadline to help identify and reward young leaders in western Kentucky is approaching.
Young leaders play an important role in moving the community forward. They excel in business, education, government and civic duty. They represent the next wave of western Kentucky leadership.
To help recognize them, the Four Rivers Business Journal, in partnership with the Leadership Paducah Foundation, is seeking nominations for the area's best young leaders.
If you know people who are making a difference within their profession and community, you can help recognize them with a nomination for the Young Leader of the Year. The deadline is June 13.
Nominees must be under 40 years of age (as of 4-25-14), have been in their current position for at least two years, and be a successful, proven contributor to their profession and/or community. Both public and private sector nominees are acceptable.
Nominees for this award will be contacted and asked to provide more detailed information. The nominations will be reviewed and finalists will be selected. All of the finalists will be featured in the August edition (publishes July 24) of the Four Rivers Business Journal. Of the finalists, a Young Leader of the Year will be selected by a panel of judges.
A luncheon will be held Aug. 28 to recognize the nominees and to name the award recipient. The 2014 Young Leader of the Year award winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship to be used toward training and development.
Young Leaders Nomination forms can be found on The Paducah Sun website, www.paducahsun.com. If you have any questions about the nomination process, you may contact Kendra Mitchell at 270-575-8625.
