McCracken graduates getting real tribute

Staff report

This year every McCracken County High School graduate, as well as each member of the administration and staff, will be given a copy of Tribute to McCracken County Schools as a keepsake.

"Last year our staff reached out to representatives of Heath, Lone Oak, and Reidland to collect memories and histories of each of these long-standing academic institutions." said Darlene Mazzone, president of Mazzone Communications. "The result was a commemorative look back at the people, places, and events that made each of these community schools unique and memorable."

"I'm a fourth generation graduate of Heath High School," said Sarah Stewart Holland. "I will cherish this memento of what this school meant to me personally and to those who came before me in my family."

Holland, a professional blogger, wrote the history of Heath for the Tribute. It features a history of Heath, Reidland and Lone Oak high schools, vintage photos, and colorful stories of students and teachers from a variety of eras.

Paducah Life Magazine, a bimonthly city magazine published by Mazzone Communications, will provide the copies of Tribute to McCracken County Schools.

Members of the community who would like a copy can contact Mazzone Communications at 270-442-3338 or darlene@paducahlife.com.
