Staff report

Paducah City Hall and the city's compost facility will be closed Monday for the Memorial Day holiday.

The city will not collect brush or limbs that day, but the trash collection schedule for the week will not change.

The compost facility, 1560 N. Eighth St., will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday.  Regular hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday  The facility accepts limbs, brush and other yard waste from local residents.

For questions, contact the Engineering-Public Works Department at 270-444-8567.

The Noble Park Pool will open for the season on Saturday.  The pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Memorial Day.  On Sunday, it will be open 1 to 5 p.m.

The pool will be closed from May 27-30, with most students still in school, and will reopen for the season May 31.  During the season, which runs through Aug. 3, the pool will be open 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.  It will be closed to the public on Mondays, with the exception of Memorial Day, for maintenance.

Pool admission is $5 for adults and for children at least 5; $3 for children 4 and younger, and $3 for seniors.

The Parks Services Department prohibits swim diapers in the pool.  All swimmers must be toilet trained.  Children in swim diapers can play in the spray pad area.

One of the new events this year is Family Swim Nights.  On Friday evenings starting June 6, the pool will be open 6:30-8 p.m. with $1 off general admission.  All children must be accompanied and supervised by their parent or guardian during Family Swim Nights.
