Graves man faces drug charges

A Graves County man faces drug charges following an incident Monday afternoon, according to the Graves County Sheriff's Department.

Police said a motorist reported seeing Jason Loyd, 25, of Mayfield smoking marijuana while driving on Perry Street, about three miles south of Mayfield. Officers then said they witnessed Loyd driving on Ky. 1890 smoking marijuana. The vehicle was found at a residence near Ash Drive and Perry Street, south of Mayfield.

Officers found 30 Oxycodone tablets in a cigarette package and small amounts of marijuana, Hydrocodone and Amphetamine tablets as well as cash following a search of the vehicle and residence, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.

Loyd faces charges of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance greater than 10 dosage units, first- and second-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and prescription controlled substance not in a proper container.
