Clinic to open second location

Staff report

A second KentuckyCare medical clinic will open in Paducah, marking the organization's third expansion in the state.

The newest KentuckyCare is located at 3240 Irvin Cobb Drive in Paducah. The clinic will help foster KentuckyCare's mission of "Health for All" by increasing access to affordable services for uninsured and underinsured residents of Paducah and surrounding areas. KentuckyCare services include primary care, prenatal care, post-childbirth care, education for chronic disease, nutrition, self-management programs and more.

"The prevalence of diabetes, heart disease and premature death in our area is staggering. Fortunately, KentuckyCare has relieved some of this burden by providing access to quality comprehensive services on a discounted scale for the uninsured. We're proud to have the ability to deliver top-quality health care to rural Kentucky communities, regardless of ability to pay," KentuckyCare CEO Steven Collier said.

KentuckyCare will host an open house and grand-opening celebration on Monday, May 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. A complimentary barbecue dinner will be provided.

The newly remodeled 2,500-square-foot clinic houses four exam rooms and accepts walk-in patients as well as those with appointments.  It is located in front of the WalMart. KentuckyCare accepts all third-party insurance policies, including Medicare and Medicaid, and offers a sliding fee scale for the uninsured.
