Pasta House Co. closes its doors

BY LAUREL BLACK lblack@paducahsun.com

A restaurant that served the area for two decades has shut its doors.

Bob Hoppmann, owner of The Pasta House Co. in Paducah, confirmed that the Italian restaurant closed on Tuesday.

He said a lack of sales prompted the closure but declined further comment.

A sign that informed customers the restaurant was closing and thanked them for their support hung on the door Tuesday at the restaurant's Jordan's Crossing location.

"I have exhausted all means of finance to support the restaurant. Please pray for me, my family and my employees," the sign read in part.

Hoppmann said the Paducah restaurant had been open for 20 years. It moved from inside Kentucky Oaks Mall in July 2008 and opened at the strip mall at Jordan's Crossing in August 2008.

The Pasta House Co. is based in St. Louis and has more than 10 locations in the St. Louis metropolitan area. There are also locations in the Missouri towns of Cape Girardeau, Farmington and Union. The restaurant in Paducah was the only Kentucky location listed on the company's website.
