Piecemakers quilt exhibit coming to Mayfield

Staff report

The Ice House Gallery will host an exhibit of quilts made by The Piecemakers of Graves County.

The Piecemakers exhibit runs from Tuesday to April 26 and includes a wide range of quilts and techniques. There will be traditional and art quilts as well as hand-quilted and machine-quilted work.

The Piecemakers will also hold a bazaar and bake sale in the Ice House's workshop room during the last full week of April during AQS Quilt Week in Paducah.

The Piecemakers is a quilting group established in 1989. The objective of the group is to learn new techniques and pass on their knowledge to new quilters. Each of their monthly meetings has a segment during which members discuss current projects and share in a quilting lesson.

The Piecemakers welcome new quilters. They meet  at 6:30 p.m. every fourth Monday at the Graves County Library. Some of their members also meet at the Ice House at 10 a.m. every first and third Wednesday.

The Ice House Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
