4 jailed, $12,000 seized in Murray

Staff report

Authorities seized about $12,000 and arrested three adults and a juvenile on drug charges Saturday in Murray.

Jessie W. Burkett, 25, of Murray, Chandler B. Huie, 21, of Farmington, and Julie D. Burgess, 18, of Benton, were charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

The juvenile was charged with trafficking and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Calloway County Sheriff Sam Steger said.

Authorities seized 8 ounces of marijuana, $12,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia from 1609 Wiswell Road, Steger said.

The adults were taken to Calloway County Jail, where they were being held on $5,000 cash bond each. The juvenile was released to her father, the sheriff said.
