KET's Goodman to speak March 6

Bill Goodman, host of "Kentucky Tonight" on KET, will be the featured speaker for the March Power in Partnership monthly breakfast of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce.

The breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. March 6 at the Julian Carroll Convention Center. West Kentucky Community & Technical College is the sponsor.

Since 1996 Goodman has been the host and managing editor of the Emmy Award-winning public affairs series "Kentucky Tonight" on KET. Additionally, he serves as host for "Education Matters," KET's election night coverage, and "One to One with Bill Goodman," where he has conducted conversations with guests including Pulitzer Prize-winner George Will; Nikky Finney, poet, professor and recipient of the National Book Award for Poetry; actor Richard Dreyfuss; and current and former Kentucky political leaders. In April 2013, Goodman was inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame.

A native of Glasgow, he graduated from Western Kentucky University. Prior to joining KET, he worked at TV stations in Nashville and Houston.

The cost of the breakfast is $15 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers.

Deborah Edmonds, chairwoman of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, will speak and the Entrepreneur of the Month will be recognized.
