Police seek help identifying pair in store theft

Staff report

The Paducah Police Department is seeking the public's help identifying a man and woman who took a wallet at the Walmart on Hinkleville Road at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police department news release.

According to the release, police are looking for a heavy-set white male who was wearing a black shirt with a red emblem on the front and a white female who was with him.

An 89-year-old woman told Paducah Police Officer Corey Willenborg that she accidentally left her wallet on a check-out counter when she and her 90-year-old husband left the store after shopping.

Store surveillance photographs show the next customer in line put the wallet in a bag before he and his female companion left the store parking lot in a green, full-size van.

Anyone with information about the man are asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 270-443-TELL. People can also visit the Crime Stoppers website, westkycrimestoppers.info or send tips via text message to "CRIMES" - 274637 - by entering "KyTips," followed by the information they have.

According to the release, information leading to an arrest or indictment may lead to a reward of up to $1,000.
