Bookworms bulk up for good cause

ALLIE DOUGLASS | The Sun

Shoppers browse through paperbacks, fiction, large and small printed books Saturday during the Friends of the McCracken County Library Book Sale at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The nonprofit organization held the winter installment of the biannual event to raise funds which will go directly back into the McCracken County Public Library. The success of the 2013 summer sale aided the library in its funding of new technology for resumé-building, color copy machines and an automated new local history filing system. Leftovers of the approximately 15,000 books up for sale are picked up by smaller area libraries, jails and prisons to help build their literature lineup.
