Graves County announces revised school calendar

Staff report

The Graves County School District has altered its calendar for the 2013-14 school year to compensate class time for students and teachers as well as work days for faculty and staff.

The district missed five days of school before Christmas break.

School will be in session on these dates when school originally was scheduled to be closed: Tuesday, Jan. 21; Tuesday, Feb. 18; Monday, May 19; Wednesday, May 21, and Thursday, May 22.

School originally was to be closed Monday, Feb. 17, but instead, it will be a professional development day for teachers.

School will be closed Friday, March 14, which previously was planned as a work day for employees.

School will still be closed Tuesday, May 20, for the primary election.

Closing day for faculty and those staff members who normally work on the district's closing day will be Friday, May 23.
