Attempt to turn fountain red fails

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Parks department officials in Kansas City were attempting to show some team spirit ahead of Saturday's Kansas City Chiefs playoff game by putting red dye in a fountain on the city's north side, but things didn't turn out as planned.

The result was a frothy, frozen blob that has colors ranging from crimson to pink to white. Internet websites poked fun at the spectacle, with Deadspin saying it looked "like something horrible happened" while USA Today declared that it looked like "something from a horror movie."
