BENTON, Ky. — Courtney Koehler, 15, of Marshall County died Tuesday at Marshall County Hospital after collapsing during volleyball practice in Calvert City.
She was pronounced dead at 5:12 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Dennis Lewis said in a news release. The cause of death was unknown, and an autopsy was planned at Madisonville, he said.
School Superintendent Trent Lovett said Koehler, a sophomore at Marshall County High School, was participating in a volleyball club practice at Pathway Baptist Church not affiliated with the school district.
