Amy McDowell, MHS FBLA Adviser, said 18 MHS students originally qualified for the state competition, but due to AP testing and other conflicts, a smaller group attended.  Out of the 14 who competed on the state level, 11 placed and qualified for the National FBLA Conference in Atlanta June 26-29.              Recognized for contributing to the State Scholarship Fund, using a state approved fundraiser and also for participating in the state project ÒUnite to Read,Ó Murray High School also received second place in Reporter's Quill.  Matthew Parker, a Region 1 nominee for Who's Who in FBLA, was a part of the State Executive Council as regional president.  McDowell was also recognized as the Region One Outstanding Adviser State Winners who qualified to compete at the

National Leadership Conference:

Jacob Bell - Impromptu Speaking - (first place), Paul Gong - Accounting 1 - (first place), DeAnna Rideout - Desktop Publishing - (first place),  Local Chapter Newsletter - (fourth place), Camee Taylor - Desktop Publishing - (first place),  Local Chapter Newsletter- (fourth place), Kristina Kiefer - Public Speaking - (second place),  
Nolan Jackson - Banking & Financial Services - (second place),  
Abby Dowdy - Banking & Financial Services - (second place),  
Alex Adams - Banking & Financial Services - (second place),  
Adam Peebles - Job Interview -  (third place),  
and Brandon Kipphut - Introduction to Technology Concepts -(fifth place).            
Matthew Parker , Jacob Bell , Paul Gong,  Kristina Kiefer  and Brandon Kipphut  will attend the national convention in June.            
There are 8800 Kentucky FBLA members and 1,750 members were in attendance at the recent state conference.
