METROPOLIS, Ill. - Having trouble understanding what a 250-person Guitar Hero III tournament will be like?

Imagine this: two players clicking, not strumming, guitars in front of two televisions. Behind the televisions are hundreds of people seeing what the players look at on LCD flatscreens mounted on a stage. And don’t forget the occasional yell of support or boo, said Jeremy “J.P.” Packer.

J.P., 16, of Metropolis is head of the Midwest Gaming Association, which has experience hosting such video game tournaments.

“We’ve held about 13 in the past year,” he said.

He provided numbers and facts to help understand the competition.
