Staff report

Samantha Hudson, APRN, has joined Lourdes and Mercy Medical Associates' Mercy regional heart and lung surgery. She is a certified cardiovascular nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. She is a graduate of Murray State University and the University of Southern Indiana. Hudson is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Cardiology and the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses. She comes to Lourdes from Baptist Health Medical Group.

Mayfield-area trucking company Averitt Express recently honored Mike Mason, Murray, for 25 years of safety. Averitt promotes a culture of safety by measuring both vehicle and driver performance through a series of indicators and through training programs and awareness campaigns.

Murray-Calloway County Hospital has achieved recognition as an adopter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association's Patient Financial Communications Best Practices. The recognition demonstrates MCCH follows nearly 100 best practices covering all aspects of financial interactions that take place in a variety of care settings.

Spring Creek Health Care, Murray-Calloway County Hospital's skilled nursing and rehab center, recently received certification as a department to care for patients in the Music & Memory program. The program supports employees working with dementia and Alzheimer patients by providing high quality, person-centered care through digital music technology. Employees work to identify residents who can benefit from the program and provide iPods with personalized playlists tailored to each one. Attending the recognition were: Erin R. Adam Chustz, an Edward Jones financial advisor in Paducah since 2000, will attend the Edward Jones Managing Partner's Conference in April in San Antonio, Texas. The event honors the top 400 of the firm's more than 14,000 financial advisors. During the three-day meeting participating financial advisors discuss issues facing the firm and the financial services industry as a whole with Jim Weddle, the firm's managing partner.
